Rudrabhishek Puja
Rudrabhishek Puja is a rite performed to worship Lord Trimbakeshwar. It comprises Panchamrit Puja devoted to the Lord along with the recitation of powerful mantras so that the person doing Rudrabhishek gets whatever he or she desires. It grants success, fulfills all the dreams, frees from the negative karma, and renders complete happiness and satisfaction in life.
Rudrabhishek Puja Vidhi consists of all the arrangements before the beginning of Rudrabhishek that have to be done. The priest readies the ‘asanas’ (seats) required for Lord Shiva, Maa Parvati, Navagrahas, other gods and goddesses. The devotee also chants the aim- ‘Sankalp’- that states why the puja is being performed. The priests perform aarti and sprinkle Gangajal everywhere around. There are six rites of this Puja:
- Jal Abhishek: According to the holy scriptures, when it is performed then Lord Shiva grants Vrishti and it accomplishes one’s wishes. Vrishti means better water
- Dudh Abhishek: When a devotee performs Rudrabhishek i.e., pours milk on Shivling, then as per believes he or she acquires longevity as a blessing.
- Shahad Abhishek: Honey is called Shahad in Hindi. When a devotee worships Shivling with honey (performs shahad Abhishek) then he or she can live happily and freely in their lives. One gets freedom from all the sufferings and miseries of life.
- Panchamrit Abhishek: Panchamrit is a combination of five elixirs i.e., milk, sugar, curd, honey, and ghee. Therefore, these are referred to as Panchamrit. Devotees worship Lord Shiva by pouring Panchamrit on the Shivling. It is said that this right blesses the devotee with wealth, success, and prosperity.
- Ghee Abhishek: It helps to safeguard a devotee against any form of illness or physical issues.
- Dahi Abhishek: Dahi is a Hindu word that means curd. It blesses a childless couple to have a child.
